At Christmas and Easter meant the gathering of certain special ones - you know who you are - to prepare the special symbolic foods - including the making of the delicate little crisp cookies you may know as "Rosettes" - they are called "Rosetki" or in our community - "Krustiki" ( literally "little crusts") and were part of the Polish ethnic skillset I enjoyed from my Mother's people as a girl.
Full story and cookie recipe - if it appeals, they can be purchased at Amazon where they are called "Swedish" - they are not - they are Polish but till Pope John Paul II, that often happened.
A woman symbol - so strong and yet delicate - working with irons and very hot oil to win the lacy result! The iron forms shown are passed down through generations and treasured - mine. Ask for details for art quality print or imprinted merchandise featuring this image.
